Welcome back to our first Cabral #HouseCall of the weekend where we're answering our community's questions on all things wellness, weight loss, and anti-aging!

Here is today's Q&A:

Lisa: First I want to thank you for all the amazing knowledge you share for FREE! You are a one of a kind type of doctor. I follow you on Instagram and now have many friends following you as well. I'm finally all caught up with you podcast....LOVE the ALL!  You mention that you listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast and I do as well. He had Mr. XXXX on his show about the Keto diet. Mark is clearly in amazing shape and definately does not look 63 yrs old. My question is, Is a Keto Diet safe and healthy? I have worked with a doctor like you to help heal my daughters Tourettes and OCD and Im obsessed with nutrition. I am a Raw Vegan and I feel my body healing. My husband wants to eat lots of meat like Mark and Im concerned cuz of all the research about meat and cancer. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Ellen: Dr Cabral, Is it ok to take the Ascorbic Acid powder I received if I have crystal oxalate kidney stones? I have read differing opinions on it and just want to be sure before I take it. Thank you!

Chris: Hey Dr. Cabral, I love your podcast and all the great content you give your listeners. I was wondering what you thought about Soil Based Organisms. I have been taking care of my gut repopulating it with lacto and bifido probiotics for several months with great progress after a long period of antibiotic use which lead to parasites and candida overgrowth. I Just tried taking the SBO supplement Prescript Assist and became instantly constipated, and started to develop bloating, belching, and heartburn as well as gut lining irritation. I stopped because I was worried it was not for me. Is that the case or is it just a normal reaction to introducing the microbiome to completely new kinds of bacterial species. Thanks!

Annie: Hi! I'm about to embark of IVF and I'm worried about all the hormones etc in my body. Do you have anything you can suggest for me to do before or after to aid in getting my body back to normal etc? Thanks!

Jane: Dr Cabral, do you think switching to a Ketogenic way of eating could help my boyfriend with his erectile dysfunction caused by type 2 diabetes? He is 51. Thank you, Jane

Marielle: Thanks for sharing so much great information with all of us. This problem comes and goes, but I have realized my frequency and urgency to urinate is out of this world sometimes. I've gone to doctors and even been on overactive bladder medications. If I drink enough water it happens, when I don't drink enough, it still happens. Especially when I am trying to fall asleep I have a hard time just feeling like I have to try to go maybe three or four times before I actually can fall asleep. What do you think could be the cause of this?

Thank you for tuning into today's show and I look forward to bringing you another Cabral #HouseCall tomorrow!

The first thing I share is some cutting edge anti-aging research that is actually taking place right now - These treatments have the potential to add another 10-12 years to your life!

Next up, I review an enzyme supplement that very few people have heard of, but it works wonders for the immune system and inflammatory pain...

And finally, I'll be reviewing 2 new wearing technology devices. One helps women time their fertility cycle, while the other looks to replace your FitBit or other health tracker with a much smaller wearable ring...

The interesting thing about goals is that almost anything can be achieved with enough time, persistence, and effort...

The issue is that many of our goals have inadequate timelines, which leaves us feeling overwhelmed and anxious every time we think about them...

The same holds true for any body transformation goals. You can literally change the shape of your body into any healthy form you're aiming for...

You just have to make sure you set specific and measurable markers with a realistic deadline attached to them. This then allows you to track your progress and course correct along the way as needed...

Check out today's #CabralConcept 426 for how to design your own "12 Weeks to Summer Shape Up Goal Setting" program - Enjoy the show!

There's no doubt following a low-carb diet can work wonders (temporarily) for some health conditions as I've explained in the past...

The issue is that not everyone responds well to staying under 50-100g of carbohydrates per day...

And when that someone (maybe you) drops their carbs too low for too long their body begins to go into a protective, low metabolic state...

From a survival standpoint, this is a very good thing - But, from a body transformation and health perspective the results aren't going to make you very happy...

Tune into today's #CabralConcept 425 for all the details on how Low Carb can equal Low Thyroid, which can then lead to "Hibernation Syndrome" - Enjoy the show!

Edgar Cayce passed away a few years ago, but what he left us with was a treasure trove of natural remedies...

Those remedies are finally being studied and research has irrefutably acknowledged what ancient forms of medicine and Cayce recommended as effective healing therapies...

One of those therapies involves Castor Oil and the unique properties it holds in regards to reducing inflammation and balancing certain parts of the immune system...

Cayce described an ancient Ayurvedic heat pack therapy using Castor Oil, but he did it in a modern way...

As someone that's used this specific therapy and seen it work in my practice, I highly recommend checking out the precise formula to make your own Castor Oil pack at home for just a few dollars...

Tune into today's #CabralConcept 424 as I explain how to use these special oil packs to decrease inflammation and pain - Enjoy the show!

The interesting thing about life is that you really can have and be anything you want, but you first have to know what it is that you actually want...

And, maybe more importantly, you need to know who it is that you currently believe you are...

You see, we've all been conditioned to believe we can achieve certain things, but not others, or that we are a "certain type of person..."

This societal brainwashing causes a serious mental disconnect when it comes to the dreams and desires you have for yourself...

Tune into today's #CabralConcept 423 for details on how to abandon your current dogmas in order to change your life's story so that you can live the life you've always wanted - Enjoy the show!

We're back with our 2nd Cabral #HouseCall of the weekend!

And just like yesterday's Q&A we're going to be answering another round of community questions sent in by you, our listeners!

Here are today's questions:

Erika: Dr. Cabral - thanks so much for all of your podcasts. I can't wait to visit your practice in Boston sometime soon. I just had a terrible accident skiing, which involved an IV, ambulance ride, hours in the ER, and 48 hours of oxycodene. My X-rays show that I didn't break anything. I lost my footing going pretty fast in steep terrain on an alpine run and skied fast right into a tree with my left shin. I got an MRI this morning and have been told I have a grade 2 partial tear of my PCL, I also tore my knee capsule, and sprained my MCL. I haven't heard much on this on your podcasts, but was wondering... is there something I can start putting in my diet on a daily basis to help heal the partial tear? I'm really hoping not to have surgery... also what is the top thing you recommend for inflammation of this magnitude? I was a D1, and professional athlete- I work out multiple times a day and am very committed to my recovery. Thanks soooooo much for taking the time to answer my question! Staying positive and hopeful!! Erika

Elise: Hello Dr Cabral, I have struggled with anxiety to a certain degree my whole life. It has always been more separation anxiety until after I had my first son three years ago. Since then it has increasingly been changing and getting worse. I often struggle with leaving my "comfort bubble" which I have created in my home town. I say often because it doesn't always happen there are some situation where I can go somewhere and be totally fine. Then other times just trying to drive an hour away becomes extremely difficult/impossible. When the attacks happen it feels like a ball is in my stomach and the more the anxiety grows it feels like roots are growing through my gut. I long to be free and to be able to travel and take my sons places. But I don't exactly know where to start that doesn't involve being medicated. I would love to find a natural solution to actually bring healing to my body as a whole. I have been taking probiotics for years and have changed my diet a bit. I also just recently started taking omega-3 after reading that could help with anxiety. I am just at a loss I don't know where to start. If you have any advice on where to start or any suggestions on what type of blood tests/labs, supplements or diet changes I should look into I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Debbie: Hello, I just recently found your podcasts and am loving them! Is it possible for you to send me the PDF downloads from episode #292? When I click on them they are expired. Thanks and keep up the great work! Debbie

Tom: Hi Dr. Cabral, I recently purchased the Prakriti book you had made a book review of in one of your earlier podcasts. After doing the test to figure out my constitution, I discovered that I'm a PItta with Vata as secondary. I also remember you had mentioned that you as well are Vata-PItta. My question is about nutrition. How strictly do you follow the nutritional guidelines Dr. Svoboda mentions? Do you follow a vata pacifying diet in winter and pitta pacifying in summer? I'm just finding it hard to follow this protocol. How strict should I be with this? Thank you!

Lauren: Hi Stephen, Thank you for your great podcast. It is my go-to. You may have already discussed Magnesium but, I was wondering if you had a preference. I have heard good things about Life Extension magnesium citrate and Pure magnesium Glycerite. I generally want to take magnesium for overall health as well as for my back pain and heart health. Can you please advise? Thanks

Wellness Catalyst: Love your posts and podcasts. My question is "Is a liver and gallstone flush necessary and if so what protocol do you recommend?" You probably already covered this but what protocol do you recommend for a child with severe eczema? Thanks for including that book review on Friday, great minds seem to enjoy similar things including books! Many blessings, your contributions are greatly appreciated-

Belinda:  Hi Stephen, I just got back from India, Mysore where I have completed a month long 200h yoga teacher training. While it has been an amazing experience, I feel it has also left me broken. We had approximately 3-4h yoga per day which wasn't the problem but we were probably sitting cross legged at least 2h per day for meditation, pranayama, etc on the floor as well and on the last day we did 108 sun salutations (quite proud I managed to get through that). Anyway, my knees hurt really badly and my wrists hurt as well. Nothing is visibly swollen and I can walk and jump without pain. It's when I sit down or want to do sun salutations at home that there is this this point when I bend my knee that I have excruciating pain. Been given an oil by an ayurvedic doc which I use, but doesn't seem to cut it. The ayurvedic doc also said I should eat a lot of ghee to lubricate my joints as I am predominantly Vata +++ Kapha ++ Pitta +. This is all great and I do believe in Ayurveda, but I am worried that eating ghee and turmeric won't help. Another important thing to mention is that once my body seems to have warmed up i.e after 12 rounds of painful sun salutations, I'm fine, pain free and can then continue. Then it hurts again afterwards. I will give my body some rest, but also don't want to lose muscle memory. I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Thanks so much! Belinda

I hope you enjoyed this weekend's Q&A and all the tips added in along the way!

This weekend on the Cabral #HouseCall we have our most questions ever answered over a 2-day period!

Our community’s questions have been piling up, so we’re catching up this weekend with some amazing Q&A – Enjoy the show!

Susan: Hi Dr. Cabral. I’m a rabid fan – and could probably spend most of this email heaping praise onto you, but I will get to the point because I know you are so very busy. My daughter has food sensitivities and we have been super diligent about removing the items we think are the cause. When we removed gluten her eczema was better. When we removed dairy her constipation improved. We don’t feed our children a lot of processed foods but the odd time when my daughter attends birthday parties and has a piece of cake etc her symptoms seem to explode. If she plays ringette her hands become raw…. She has only had antibiotics twice in her life (she’s 5) once was steroid eye drops as a result of cataract surgery. I am in the process of getting her food sensitivities tested. Is there anything else you might recommend? Thank you – your value to your profession cannot be measured.

Wendy: Dr. Cabral, I am a regular listener to your podcast and I love the education I’m getting every day! I am a certified holistic nutritionist in Wyoming. I eat 95 percent clean – no bread of any kind, no dairy, and no processed foods. I exercise 6 times per week for at least a half hour every day doing a combination of cardio and strength. However, I am about 15 pounds over my ideal weight and can’t seem to break this plateau. I recognize that part of my problem is that I have a food addiction – I eat when I’m not hungry, and even though I eat very healthy food, it’s more than my body needs. I go through periods of time when I’m more disciplined, but even then I can only manage to lose about 3-4 pounds and I plateau. Have you run across this scenario before, and what do you suggest that your patients do about it? Thank you again for all the fabulous tips you give in your podcasts! Oh, and for the record, I’m all in for the Training Thursday kettlebell challenge you talked about on the March 9 show – I’ll be starting that tomorrow!

Briana: Dear Dr. Cabral, I recently purchased your prenatal package. I am about ten weeks pregnant with number three, I lead a healthy life and do a lot of reasearch but still find myself confused when it comes to choosing the best for my babies! I have been a listener for about 6 months and have learned so much and come to value your opinion! That being said I wondered why there is no vitamin K in the orthomelecur prenatal. I didn’t think too much of it until I heard your recent podcast about the benefits of vitamin k. In my previous pregnancies I took Seeking Health’s prenatal which contains 100mcg. Do you feel supplemental vitamin k imoportant during pregnancy? You teased a pregnancy episode and I hope it is the works soon! Keep up the amazing work, it is truly a public service!

John: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love your show and listen to it when I’m in the car. I have a slightly raised, red, “rash” around my neck, collarbone, centre of my back, and it sometimes crawls up to my ears. It looks like several little circles about 1 cm in diameter. It’s not itchy and it doesn’t hurt. I went to the conventional doctor 3 times and they said I have tinea versicolor. I work in a hot & humid environment at least 5 days a week (I’m a chef). It flares up when my body temperature rises. I exercise regularly, eat mostly plant based, and have a strong immune system. I have taken an anti-fungal medication (pill and topical). My symptoms went away with the pill but not with the cream. I have done your detox (about 2 months ago) and have had a flare up since then. What do you recommend? Thank you, John

Tania: Hi Dr. Cabral, I love all your work so much. Thank you for sharing all that you do. I always share your podcasts with my friends and family. I have a question about my career path and would love your insight. I am a classically trained chef but have recently become extremely interested in health & wellness. Every day, I listen to podcasts and read books to further my knowledge. I have always believed that food is medicine and have been mostly plant-based for over a year. I am looking to further my education in the holistic/naturopathic space but don’t know where to start. I definitely want to continue cooking for a living but I want to have a strong foundation in health. I worry that I won’t be able to acquire the information that I need by going to a holistic nutrition school, and time is of the essence for me. I know you speak highly of your travels and have considered seeking practical work experience abroad (India, Sri Lanka, Europe). I appreciate any advice you may have. Thank you once again for all that you do. You are an inspiration. Tania

Maria: How does alopecia happen and is there a cure besides rogaine, which is not a cure. Never really heard about it till it happened to me. Thank you Dr. Cabral love your pod casts.

Daniel: First and foremost – thank you for your podcast and the wonderful information you share herein. I have a friend across the pond in London who has a four year old nephew struggling with nephrotic syndrome. We talk about leaky guy, but what can someone (specifically someone four years old) do to reverse a leaky kidney? Thank you for your help!

I hope you enjoyed the Q&A and join us tomorrow for another Cabral #HouseCall answering your questions!

It's easy for all of us to hop on the band wagon and ride along with the current dogma of the day, but the problem is that the whole truth usually gets left behind...

This is clearly evident when Interval Training became the dominant form of exercise (with good reason) for body transformation and overall health...

The issue is that what often happens in our "all-in society" is that we bash and slander anything that doesn't fit in this box...

That's why on today's #CabralConcept 419 I want to share the "Surprising Benefits of Aerobic Exercise" and why you just may want to add some to your current program - Enjoy the show!

One of the biggest misconceptions in nutrition and natural health is how to heal the gut using carbohydrates...

The old way used to recommend cutting out all fruits, starches, grains, and most vegetables...

However, modern science (as well as ancient Ayurvedic wisdom) has revealed that only certain types of carbs, sugars, and fibers need to be omitted for a short period of time...

Following this type of plan, as well as adding back in fiber to your daily diet will ensure that your diverse gut microbiome can thrive for years to come...

Losing sight of what matters most to you in life can happen for 2 main reasons...

The first one is that you're so caught up in your day-to-day activities, stresses, and ongoings that by the time you stop to breathe it's already time to go to bed...

The second reason is that when we're actually going after our goals and what we truly desire in life we get lost in a sea of minutia that has very little bearing on what will move us forward...

The way to break the cycle is to rewire our mind and conditioning and thought process to stop focusing on the small stuff... Tune into today's #CabralConcept 416 for how to do just that - Enjoy the show!

Mar 26, 2017

We're back with our 2nd Cabral #HouseCall of the weekend and I'm happy to have you back with us!

Here are today's community questions:

Melissa: Dr. Cabral, I enjoy listening to your podcast and thank you for all of the wonderful information that you provide. After having my third baby three years ago via c-section, I have had significant pain in my stomach after eating meals. This began occurring 6 weeks post-delivery and does not seem to be related to any specific food. It typically occurs within 30 minutes after a meal and can last for hours. I am extremely bloated, and am 40 pounds overweight even though I eat a very healthy diet (around 1200-1400 calories daily of fresh produce) and exercise daily. I have had a multitude of tests - gallbladder, ultrasounds of liver, blood tests, colonoscopy, endoscopy, food allergy tests - all of which come back normal, with my only diagnosis as constipation. After eliminating dairy and added sugars and taking Mirilax daily, my symptoms resolved. I was even able to eat a normal diet with no exclusions. However, over the last week, the symptoms have returned. I am so frustrated with not being able to eat and having no solution. Do you have any thoughts on what could be causing my symptoms and what my next steps should be? Thank you so much! Regards, Melissa

  -  Dr. Cabral, As an addition to my previous submitted question, I am also experiencing severe itching with no rash on my breasts and upper back. My skin entirely is very dry with patches of scaly skin and even though I drink lots of water and use lotions, my skin is still very itchy, dry, dehydrated and uncomfortable. When I itch, I do create very deep cuts which cause a lot of scarring. The itching is internal and often times I wake up with severe attacks where I feel as though I want to remove whatever body part is causing such intense itching - it is very painful. This has occurred over the last 20 years of my life, beginning when I was 18 years old. I have had bloodwork done looking at my liver, thyroid, iron -all of which were normal except iron - I did have low iron stores but after iron infusions, my levels are back up and I am still itching. I have food allergy tests done which have indicated no food allergy. I am severely allergic to dust mites. I have had these bouts with itching after each of my pregnancies (3 total all c-sections) - the other times they have occurred have been random. The only other connection I can make is that the first instance occurred a couple of months after I had my wisdom teeth removed and this last time occurred a couple of months after a colonoscopy, so could it possibly be related to surgery/procedures? Or maybe hormones? Thank you once again for any information you can provide. Regards, Melissa

Lizzie: Hi D. Stephen Cabral, I have recently felt pain in my right knee for the past couple weeks. It hurts to fully extend and just feels "off." I eat very well, mostly organic veggies, coffee in am, nothing crazy, not sure what this could be from. I work out 4x a week yoga to spinning to bootcamps. Can inflammation travel? I do also have very week ankles (kill during yoga in 1 leg poses) and wonder if this is connected? I am still working out and trying to ignore this subtle pain. Even in a plank it hurts to fully straighten my right leg.... but I am forcing it thinking it will clear up on its own. Come to think of it, I also have pain, soreness in my left shoulder, but also continue to work out with light weights during shoulder exercises. I am 32. 120 lbs. Fit. Try my best to do it all right. Please help!! Thank you.

Hayley: Hi Dr. Cabral- What is your opinion on stabilized lignite extract supplements? It is purported to tighten up a leaky gut, but I'm not clear on if this product is a necessary addition to my diet. Thanks for all the work you do-- your podcast is awesome!

Leilani: Dear Dr Cabral, Thank you for all your podcasts and all the information you provide! It is very much enjoyed and appreciated. I have a dental question - I need 4 crowns (maxillary central & lateral incisors) and would like to know what material you recommend as safe to have inside the mouth. I find all the information out there overwhelming and confusing and would like to finally have the work done but I want to feel confident that I'm getting the safest and most bio-compatible options available. I apologise if this has already been covered in an earlier podcast - I did a quick search but nothing came up. Thank you for your time & assistance. Kind Regards, Leilani

Ann: What is your recommendation for the most safest and healthiest cutting boards. There are so many to choose from (bamboo, plastic, wood, etc) Thanks!

Ashley: Hi Dr. Cabral, I seem to eat all of the time, but never really feel full or satiated. I'm not overweight, and I choose healthy real foods. But it seems I could literally eat all day long. What causes this? Thanks!

I hope you enjoyed today's Q&A and all the tips along the way!

Hello and thank you for tuning into this weekend's #HouseCall Q & A show!

Here are today's amazing community questions!

Brittany: Hi Dr. Cabral! I am getting ready to start your 7 day Dr. Cabral Detox and I was wondering: Do the limited calories on days 1 and 2 of the detox (200 calories each day) still allow for autophagy? I've read that you have to eliminate calories entirely for a period of time for autophagy to engage; is this true? I am just wondering if this detox can also serve as an intermittent fast, or if I need to incorporate a water only fast separately from the detox at a later date for maximum health results long term. Many thanks! - Brittany

Randa: Hello Was wondering if you thought new chapter vitamins are good quality in your opinion. Also could you tell me what macro breakdown you suggest to someone who wants to maintain there weight and what macro breakdown (if different) for someone who has 20 pounds to lose. Thanks -love your podcast

Michele L: Hi Dr. Cabral, Hope you are well. I love the podcast! I had a few questions: 1. What are your thoughts about strep throat and using antibiotics to treat it? My understanding is that antibiotics are prescribed because of possible serious side effects, but wondering if it is necessary? I have one friend whose daughter has a heart problem so she is grateful for them and another friend who has a perfectly healthy daughter, who on the last day of taking the 10 day course ended up with a severe reaction that the doctors believe is serum sickness and is currently in the hospital covered in an awful rash, swollen and having a hard time breathing. They don't really know how to make her better. I know that antibiotics should only be used for bacterial infections, so is that what strep is? 2. Is there anything you can do to protect your child from a serious side effect like the one that happened to my friend's child? 3. The reason I ask is that my daughter is suspected to be allergic to penicillin - she got a red bumpy rash when she had strep 3 years ago after taking amoxicillin that they didn't think was scarlet fever and determined she likely had an allergic reaction. However, they prescribe Keflex for her which is in the same class as penicillin so it makes me worry that she could have a serious reaction to this antibiotic. Any advice on how to manage antibiotics when they are necessary? When talking with the doctors anything specific I should be asking? I wonder if there is a minimum dose that could be prescribed and a shorter duration that would be as effective and perhaps the doctors go with the strongest dosage? I know that the doctors wrongly prescribed antibiotics for my child 4 times prior to her allergic reaction but they made me so worried she needed them when she didn't for very mild ear infections. Very hard to know when to follow along and when to just do what feels right to me. Thoughts? Thanks!

Michelle: Hi Dr. Cabral - thanks for a great podcast. What are your thoughts on hand sanitizers? Do you think it is better to use them than eat with dirty hands if there is no place to wash your hands or are you better off allowing some germs to be there? I know someone who never asks her kids to wash (they don't even wash after going to the bathroom) and the kids are incredibly healthy and never seem to get sick. I do believe in hand washing before eating and definitely after using the bathroom (that to me is basic hygiene) but I am guilty of having my child over washing. I also ask my child to wash when she gets home from school. She was a preemie which made me hyper vigilant about her health. I want to get to a "normal" state around this but don't know what the right balance is and how to achieve it? Thanks!

Natalie: Hi Dr. Cabral! I love your podcast. Thank you so much for all the info you share. I'm wondering what form of female contraception you recommend to your patients. My research has led me to believe that the most "natural"/least disruptive form is a copper IUD. What do you think? Have you come across any adverse effects to the copper IUD? Thank you!!!! Nat

MariEllen: Hi Stephen, I listen to all of your podcasts and am thankful you share such useful information with all of us. I have had a constant problem with headaches since I got my wisdom teeth out when I was 17/18 years old. I've been told it has nothing to do with it, it's just a coincidence. I have tried an awful lot of things that have been costly as well as time consuming for me. Sometimes, I want to give up.. But I have already come this far in trying to figure out what is going on with me. I have been to so many doctor appointments, had a brain scan, been on multiple medicines to try to help ease the pain ( which I don't fully agree being on and am no longer taking anything), been fitted for an NTI appliance since I do grind and clench my teeth at night, done acupuncture, tried yoga.... It is a constant pulsating and starts every morning when I wake up. I have celiacs disease, so there is no gluten in my diet and limited diary products that im trying to get down to none. Sometimes, the pain becomes bearable and other times, I cant even think of driving myself to work. The pain usually lasts for days and sometimes a week or more at a time. I generally am ALWAYS in pain and when I'm not, it's the best feeling in the world. It doesn't feel like a migraine to me, I can tolerate light and sound but I do get extremely irritable. The pain feels like my head is always pulsating or someone is like constantly hitting me in the head. I have a lot of pain behind my eyes when it gets really bad and around the neck area (my neck is always uncomfortable) it feels like an ice pick headache but for long amounts of time. Thank you so much and any advice helps

Low carb diets work. There's no doubt about that and the research shows that it helps with inflammation, regulating blood sugar, lowering insulin, and losing weight...

What you don't hear though is that low carb diets don't work forever...

And that's the issue. Most diets will work in the short-term, but what you really need to be successful and to skip the inevitable frustration is a long-term plan...

So while going low-carb for up to 12 weeks can work, you need to know what to do after that in order to keep your thyroid, adrenals, mood, energy, and metabolism strong after that point...

Tune into today's #CabralConcept 411 for all the details on how to transition off of low carb diets for long term health & body transformation goals - Enjoy the show!

It seems like we're creating names for as many diseases as there are people on this planet...

This is unfortunate because each "disease" is then matched up with a medication. And often times, the medication is for life and the patient is given no hope of recovery...

But there is an alternative. That alternative is the belief (and fact) that what we call a chronic health condition is nothing more than a set of symptoms that rise to the surface...

In Natural Medicine, we know that the symptoms are not the disease, but represent "dis-ease" within the body. Therefore, the only way to ever fully get well again and reverse any health condition you may suffer from is to find the underlying root causes...

Tune into today's #CabralConcept 41o to find the 3 triggers for disease. Once you know those triggers you will then be able to work backwards to finally heal - Enjoy the show!

Before you ever get healthy, lose the weight, or enjoy the success in life you've been secretly wishing for, you must begin where every success story has ever started...

And that place resides in your mind. You can have the best plan, the greatest guru, or the most caring coach, but it is your belief system that will ultimately carry you through to the finish line...

In my practice, I've seen cancer and mystery illness patients be given no hope by conventional medicine only to walk away from their past lives of sickness and disease and enter a life of health and happiness...

If you have a goal, or want more for life, I urge you to build the proper foundation for your dreams by learning how to open your mind to a better life - Tune into today's #CabralConcept 409 for the details. Enjoy the show!

Welcome back to our 2nd Cabral #HouseCall of the weekend!

We have 5 more amazing community questions, so let's get right into them:

Cassi: Hi Dr. Cabral - thank you so, so much for providing all the knowledge and information you share with is and most of all for free. It is so inspiring to see a person do something for the better of society and not only to make a "quick buck." My question is regarding the book The China Study. I know you reviewed this a long time ago, but can't find which episode and was wondering if you could re-review. I'm currently reading the book and just want to know what you think and if every study in it seems trustworthy, etc. Thank you!

Aleks: Hi! I was wondering if you had a good probiotic recommendation on the market? I'm a student and need to be smart about my purchases :)

Taylor: Hi Dr. Cabral, I so enjoy your show-it fuels my passion for continuing healing for my body. Through testing it has been shown that my body has the need for Mercury detox, I hve mineral difecency, parasites, and Candida overgrowth. I feel unsure of what would be the first thing to go after and then what would be next and so on. I know that sometimes going after one of these things before the other could be pointless because I am assuming there is an order. Can you help? Thanks! Taylor

John: Hi Stephen. I regularly listen to a podcast called the Ben Greenfield podcast, where Ben interviews experts, doctors, etc. He recently brought on a top detox expert named Dr P. Doctor P talked about most detoxes being ineffective and how you have to detox the cell in order to have a true detox.

Jordan: Hey Stephen. I had a question about food allergy testing. I've heard from various doctors, like Chris Kresser and others, who believe Cyrex Labs uses the best method for testing for food allergies. I am just wondering if you've heard of Cyrex Labs and your personal opinion on it. Thank-you

Thank you for tuning into this weekend's HouseCalls and I look forward to speaking with you tomorrow on the Mindset & Motivation Monday #CabralConcept show!

Dawn: As a consumer, every podcast I listen to, I get intrigued by another vitamin?  then I think I should add to my diet?  then I don't know if I'm taking too much stuff?  Like, I need more iron, zinc and magnesium.  I'm 47, getting older, skin and hair changing - that freaks me out.  So, I want lots of Biotin, Iron, Zinc - what about fish oil?  What can I do to be looking younger longer or at least try?  I know this is same for so many people - you get caught in all the marketing hype and it plays on your emotions.

Dr. Cara: Hi Dr. Cabral, I wanted to let you know i really appreciate all the continuing education you’re doing for patients and doctors alike. I feel like I learn more from your podcast than I have attending post doctoral seminars! My question is how do you get patients to comply with your protocols? In my practice I seem to have difficulty with patients following the food and supplement recommendations. Any advice would be appreciated and thank you in advance!

Maura: What do you think about micronutrient testing and cardiometobolic testing? My naturopath offered these options to me as well as just some of the basic blood work. Do you recommend this as a good wellness strategy? I did not see it as an option on your website but it is through spectracell.

Renessa: Gday! thankyou so much for all your information, i am so happy i have found your podcasts. I'm just wondering if you would recommend bread at all? If a certain type is best, eg. Organic Whole Rye bread? Is organic bread with simple ingredients healthy? Thanks! God bless.
